Haley MacKeil investigates the relationships that stem from anatomical form, naturally occurring geometries and biological processes. These intersections shed light on both the corporeal forms that make up our visual experience and the unique and varied narratives they tell. The additive and subtractive properties of printmaking communicate her desire to unravel the many layers of these complex systems and to echo the curiosity of humans within their environment.

Her professional career includes years of skilled practice as both a printmaker and arts educator, working in collaboration with artists, students and the public. Haley was an active printmaker at Mixit Print Studio in Somerville, MA for five years while working for Maud Morgan Arts in Cambridge, MA, where she became Director in 2016. She has assisted notable Berlin, Boston, and New York-based artists on printed projects and editions and has led printmaking workshops in numerous educational art settings.

As an artist and educator she explores the interface between the arts and sciences with attention to process, materiality, and perception. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Visual Arts and Biology from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in 2010. She is currently a MFA candidate at Rhode Island School of Design.
